There is Nothing To Fear By Pastor Shari Stephens 0

Many of us find ourselves being tormented by the enemy over the cares and affairs of our life.  He tells us all the terrible things that will happen to us; how we will lose things we love, how we may never be healed, how our expectations won’t come to pass.  Remember that’s the enemy, the scripture says in I Peter 5:8,

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

He always roars bringing fear, doubt, and torment.

But we know we are in the household of peace, we are children of God.  How then, do we deal with situations out of our control, that the enemy would use against us? We treat them just like our parents did when we were afraid of the dark.

Usually when a child is afraid at night, a parent will come into the room and turn the lights on.  They may look directly in the scary places like, under the bed, in the closet and behind the drapes.  Then, they may even turn the nightlight on.  This reveals the truth and dispels the fear that, there is something lurking there.

That is exactly how we as believers should deal with our scary issues.  Look at them for what they are with scripture to offer a promise we can stand on.  For example,

If you are facing economic issues,

What’s the worst that can happen?  You lose a job, car or house?  Well, doesn’t the scripture promise in Philippians 4:19,

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”  Aren’t all those thing’s needs?  Isn’t he obligated to meet them? Even if you lose them in one way won’t he meet them in another? Job lost everything but got it all back double fold.

I am not saying that you will lose your stuff or that you want to, but what I am talking specifically about is getting rid of fear in your lifeYou cannot live a life of fear. It is not of God.  We get rid of it when we take the “fear” out of it.   Think about the 3 Hebrew boys, look at what they said to Nebuchadnezzar,

I Kings 3:17 says, “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”

In other words, we are not going to be afraid or tormented about the situation before us because GOD IS OUR ONLY OPTION EITHER WAY IT GOES.  There is nothing to fear when God is on all sides of your scenarios!!

Think about this, the scariest thing out there is death and Jesus even dealt with that for us, I Corinthians 15:54 says,

“When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’”

Stop allowing the enemy to cause you to live in fear. Become fearless by looking at your situation through the truth of the word of God.
