Understanding the Movement of God By Pastor Shari Stephens 0

Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us an important truth about us and the Lord.  It says,

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord.  “As the Heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

God’s way of doing things will not always make sense to us.  There are things that He has told us to do and then may follow up with a new course of action.  You might then find yourselves clueless, trying to understand why He has changed course.  This is all because of the difference between him and us.

People are linear, ritualistic, set in our ways and hate change, did I leave anything out?  We only tend to understand what we have seen or experienced and, in God terms, have very limited imaginations.

God’s thoughts are past finding out, because He has access to all things and all times.  He has complete knowledge of the past, present, and future.  He knows all technology that will ever be created, all discoveries, how everything works and even the deep, secret, motivations of people’s hearts.

When God makes plans He has access to all of this and more.  Of course, His thoughts won’t be ours.

Our motivations tend to be for money, family, fame, achievement, or for a cause.

God’s motivation is far beyond ours; salvation, eternity, his children’s maturity and growth, but most of all His will. He is the one being that can literally work out all things in accordance to His will. And the good news is that He is a Good, loving and just God.

So, when He directs your path…trust Him!!! Follow Him!!!! And know that He’s got everything under control!!!
