Understanding the POV of a story makes all the difference in understanding what is going on.
We discussed how the story was different from the experience by Pharaoh, Moses and the Children of Israel. But now I want to discuss an even more important POV.
God’s point of view.
How does God see what is going on in your life? Especially because He sees the beginning from the end, and He is the Author and Finisher of our faith, and He promises that all things work together for the good, and He says that He knows the thoughts He thinks towards you. It probably would be a great help to see things from HIS point of view.
In the same story about Moses, Pharaoh and the Children of Israel, God’s POV was:
- He was fulfilling a promise he made to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that their descendants would have the promised land.
- He wanted to introduce the entire world and all of future mankind to his deliverance power through this one event.
- He wanted to free His covenant people because He had to create a nation through which He could send His son.
- He had to establish a “chosen people” that He sent the law to so that all men would know what sin was.
- He had to establish that there was nothing we could do to get to Him on own.
- He had to show the need for a lamb’s blood to protect and cover us from destruction.
- He had to show that he could feed us with manna from heaven daily.
- And provide for our needs daily with quail and water when needed.
- He had to set up all the types and shadows; Passover, the Tabernacle, the holy mountain, the Ark of the Covenant, etc.
- He had to give us the 10 commandments.
- He had to let us know who He was; the great “I Am, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love…”
- He had to show that He was the only God. Bigger than nations, and bigger that nature.
- He had to show that He wanted to fellowship with man. To led us, direct us, teach us, and talk to us.
- He wanted to reveal HIMSELF to humanity!
I could go on and on, but I think you get the picture. A lot was going on!!
When we look at things from our very limited perspective, we have no idea all the things God is doing behind the scenes. We don’t have thoughts like His, we think very linearly, simplistic and basic. God thinks God thoughts about everything!!!! He is grand, complex and masterful all the while being magnificently loving and caring about us and our future. How can we not trust Him?
Unfortunately, its easy, if you don’t spend time with Him. You won’t realize how awesome He is, His thoughts about you and His point of view on things. That will leave you struggling daily just trying to live by faith.
Take time today and ask Him His point of view about things in your life…and trust that He is moving in a way that will ultimately work out for your good.
